SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI — Swan Valley senior Alex Grace, who set the Michigan high school single-season rushing record in 2013, got off to a good start in 2014, running for 195 yards to lead the Vikings to a 42-0 win Thursday over Saginaw Nouvel in the Saginaw News Game of the Week.

Grace ran for four touchdowns on carries of 1, 4, 19 and 95 yards. He also threw a 39-yard touchdown pass and then threw the two-pointconversion. He caught one pass, a 47-yarder.

Grace, who has verbally committed to Western Michigan, played the first half and the first series of the second half before sitting out the rest of the game.

Quarterback Ben Hart scored the game’s final touchdown on a 25-yard run.

Swan Valley receiver Isaiah Berden caught seven passes for 82 yards, including a 39-yard TD catch.

Quarterback Nick Call completed 7 of 11 passes for 91 yards, including 41 yards on five carries.

Nouvel quarterback Mitch Morley was 9 of 18 for 103 yards, including six completions to Jason Russell for 64 yards. Santino Rosales ran for 30 yards, Cam Fluder 22 and Brad Dey 20.
