Week three was the biggest test for both the Girls and Boys teams with the 4-0 Lady Vikings having a first place showdown with the 4-0 Lady’s from Bullock Creek and the 4-0 Boys having a first place showdown with the 4-0 Spartans from Pinconning. Neither match disappointed.
The boys had a bye for their first match and they were ready for their biggest match of the year against Pinconning. The boys lost their first baker game of the year 187-161 but bounced back nicely in the second game 182-128 to take a slim 6-4 lead into the Peterson games. The boys really took it to Pinconning in the first Peterson 957-820. Logan Lemmer (11) lead the way with a 215, Noah Conley (11) 203, Mason Eddy (10) 192, Zach Crawford (10) 177 and Kasey Kretz (11) 170. The second Peterson was a little closer throughout the game but the Vikings prevailed with a 883-812 victory. Mason Eddy (10) lead the way with a 235, Logan Lemmer (11) 186, Noah Conley (11) 179 Zach Crawford (10) 145 and Kasey Kretz (11) 138. The boys won the match 22-8 to remain unbeaten and in first place by themselves.
In the first match for the Lady Vikings, they had their showdown for first place against 4-0 Bullock Creek. The baker games were very close but the Lady Vikings won both baker games by a score of 126-118 and 188-179. In the first Peterson game, Bullock Creek pulled out the victory 865-793 behind Bullock Creek’s leadoff bowler Skylar Rounds’ perfect 300 game. The Lady Vikings were lead by Becca Curtis (12) 187, Abby Bremer (9) 171, Cyrstal Demijohn (11) 168, Zoe Mitchell (10) 156 and Hallie Clark (12) 111. In the second Peterson the Lady Vikings pulled out a hard fought 744-698 victory led by Abby Bremer (9) 169, Becca Curtis (12) 166. Zoe Mitchell (10) 153, Elizabeth Jacobs (10) 133, which is her new game, and Crystal Demijohn (11) 123. The Lady Vikings won the match 20-10 to remain unbeaten and alone in first place in the Tri-Valley Central.
In the second match, the Lady Vikings beat Carrollton 25-5. They split the baker games losing the first one 130-126 and coming back to win the second baker game 143-114. The Lady Vikings won both Peterson games 829-583 and 746-501. In the first game, they were lead by Becca Curtis (12) 232, Zoe Mitchell (10) 168, Abby Bremer (9) 148, Hallie Clark (12) 142 and Crystal Demijohn (11) 139. In the second Peterson game the Lady Vikings were led by Becca Curtis (12) 194, Zoe Mitchell (10) 162, Abby Bremer (9) 145, Hallie Clark (12) 128 and Crystal Demijohn (11) 117.
Both teams had a great showing this weekend and were able to pass their toughest test so far on the young season. Next week the bowling teams are in action at Pin Town Lanes in Chesaning with the Girls starting at 9 am against Freeland and Standish and the Boys start roughly at 3 pm against Bullock Creek and Carrollton.
