As interim principal, I would like to welcome you to Swan Valley High School, a great community in which to live, learn and work.

Please feel free to contact me by phone (989.921.2401) or email ( ) if you have any questions.

I am a life long resident of Thomas Township and am happy to live and educate my own children in the Swan Valley School District. I earned my Bachelors degree from Central Michigan University in 1991 and was certified to teach history, government / civics, and science in the State of Michigan. I began my teaching career at CMU as a graduate assistant in the Department of History. From Mt. Pleasant I moved to South Bend, Indiana to teach history and science at Christ the King School. In 1994 the pull of family brought us back to Saginaw and I taught at Saginaw Township Alternative Resources (currently Mackinaw High School) before moving to Swan Valley in 1995-6. During my career at Swan Valley I have taught middle school, high school, been the high school assistant principal, middle school principal and am currently the interim high school principal.

In my own educational journey I have earned a high school diploma from Freeland Jr / Sr High School, a Bachelors degree from Central Michigan University, a Master of Arts in History from CMU and a Masters in Education from Saginaw Valley State University. I am also a graduate of the Gerstacker Fellowship Program, the class of 2012.
