I am currently in my ninth year of teaching here at Swan Valley High School.  Prior to SVHS I worked twenty years at the Bay-Arenac Career Center.  I have taught all these years as a Technology instructor, and am currently industry certified in the following areas:   Novell Network Administration, Cisco Network Administration, Oracle SQL Administration, A+ (computer Repair) Service Technician, Web Foundations Certification and Microsoft Office Suite Certification.  Currently have a Master’s degree in Computer & Business Education.

Courses:

Tech Application IB –  includes Database, Spreadsheeting, HTML and Computer Concepts.

Computer & Information Technology A (CIT A) – This course students learn extensive use of Adobe Photoshop and other Graphic software to build various business applications:  Logos, business cards, flyers, posters, brochures, newsletters, tshirt designs and web sites.

Computer & Information Technology B (CIT B) – This course is broken into three different job skills for training.

Computer Repair & Networking–  Students here will study the components of a computer,  along with how to build and design a desktop computer.  In additional semesters they can learn to network computers and administer a Microsoft Windows Server Network.

Computer Graphics & Web Design – Students here will learn advanced photoshop skills and projects along with,  computer animation, web site animation, and web site design.  Students can learn to use content managers to build a site in additional semesters.

Computer Programming – Student here will learn programming skills for both business and game applications.  Students will use Visual Studio to learn basic business applications,  then move into creating either a card game or dice game.  In additional semesters students may choose to learn 3d Game Programming Skills.
