My name is Gina Wilson. I currently teach Kindergarten at Shields Elementary. I have been teaching for 15 years. My first year I taught 3rd grade in Saginaw Public Schools. Then I started teaching here at Shields Elementary. I taught for 8 years in first grade.  So I am very well versed in what your child needs to know for Kindergarten and the skills they need to gain to be successful not only this year, but for their future. I am very blessed to be in such a wonderful and supportive district!

I received my teaching degree from Saginaw Valley State University. I also received my Masters in Teaching Reading from SVSU along with my Reading Specialist endorsement.

My life keeps me on my toes. I have been married for 10 years and I have a 24 year old daughter,a 21 year old son, a 7 year old son, and an 3 month old daughter! I also have a 2 year old granddaughter. (Yes! I am a Grandma!) I am very blessed to have such wonderful family!

My husband and I completely gutted out a 1920’s farm house, which is currently our home. We have worked very hard on this. ( I would never do it again! 🙂  )

I love to play cards, swim in our pool, and go camping and fishing.  My time with my family is priceless so I try to fit as much of it in as possible.

I love teaching and I am so glad to be a part of your child’s education. I am looking forward to a rewarding year with your child. I will encourage them to find their strengths and build on them.  I truly care and I am very passionate about my work and love my students as if they were my own.
Whether I have had your child or your child is currently in my classroom, I never stop caring about my students and value what they do in their education. Please feel free to stop in anytime to just say hi or see how your child is doing.
